Blog - Brain Injury Waiver Emergency Need Assessment
We are excited to announce that individuals listed on the Brain Injury Waiver waitlist can now apply for prioritization on the waitlist based on emergency and urgent need! Once on the brain injury waiver waitlist, you will receive a letter in the mail notifying you about the Emergency Need Assessment application. If you are already on the brain injury waiver waitlist, you should have already received a letter with the information regarding the process and how to apply. We encourage individuals applying for the Brain Injury Waiver Emergency Needs Assessment to include all necessary and pertinent supporting documents in with your application – this looks different for each person as it depends on the needs of that individual. It is up to Iowa Medicaid Enterprise to consider your application for approval. Additionally, individuals who are currently in a Nursing Facility are ineligible to apply for this Brain Injury Waiver Emergency Needs Assessment as they are considered to be getting the level of care that they currently need.
Call us if you have any questions about this process and we are happy to help navigate any questions you might have.
